Jake's Story

All my life, I have had a passion for food. 

 

My professional culinary journey began with 'Quarantine Cuisine', a bespoke private dining venture I started in Singapore over COVID-19 in my own home. Throughout this venture, I served over 100 guests, including US embassy personnel, pilots stuck in quarantine hotels and Michelin-starred chefs.

 

Prior to college, I worked as a chef in New York, helping 63 Clinton, as one of 5 chefs, earn its first Michelin star, and at 350 Main, a top-rated contemporary American restaurant in Park City, Utah.


Most recently, I worked in the local fine-dining restaurant in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, while attending Bucknell University.

These experiences enabled me to refine my skills in the culinary arts, expand my pallet, and create new dishes. Now, at USC, I hope to make a difference once again.

"Customer service is impeccable and the welcome from the family was very warmed. Cheese platter came out first and the presentation makes you want to dig in right away. However it could do with a little more choices of cheese and less nuts. Burrata plate came out next as one of the appetizers. It was delicious especially the rocket salad, very refreshing and not too over powered by dressing. The main course was the highlight of the evening. The steaks were cooked to perfection. It was mouthwatering and melting in your mouth. I could never finish that portion of steak but it was so delicious, you couldn't stop eating it even when you are full. The potatoes were also very tender, browned and baked well. I have never tried horseradish with steak before and that was a good discovery, something I will be adding to my plethora of seasoning/sauces in future. Now, the whole point of the meal for me is the desert and the apple pie just finished the meal off nicely. Not too sweet so you appreciate the taste of the apple and not too over powered with the spices. We took the rest of the pie home and it only lasted until breakfast the next day. I would highly recommend the dinning experience at Quarantine Cuisine. Chef Jake is talented and has the potential to take this to the next level."
